Light and Dark

In my travels around the Net lately I've stumbled across a couple of neat sites, although light years apart in content.

The first is a blog-type site chronicling the adventures of a Ukrainian woman who is into motorbikes, archeology, drinking and nuclear physics. She gets on her bike and explores the historical sites around the ex-Soviet Union, such as abandoned bunkers and evacuated Chernobyl towns. She also has photographic coverage of the peaceful (and psycologically effective?) protests against the Ukraininan election results in 2004. Very interesting read, if a little gruesome at times, it gives a real sense of the humanity to otherwise forgotten front page headlines. Her name is Elena, check it out if you have time to spend.

My other find is actually a re-find. "Jay is games" is a site that reviews all those neat little flash Internet games (like penguin baseball) and links to them all in one tidy site. Here it is to help lighten your mood after the former read :)

PS.....Look who's back :)
